Festival Day in Downtown Blue Ridge: How Event Parking Works

The short answer

Festival parking in downtown Blue Ridge follows three patterns. Arts in the Park and Blues & BBQ run shuttles from the Farmers Market at 787 Summit Street. Parades and the Halloween Safe Zone clear or close Main Street at set hours. For other events, the City's sheet lists $20 a day at its two lots on festival days, a rate not confirmed for 2026.

On a festival day in downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia, parking follows one of three patterns. The big ticketed festivals in the downtown park run shuttles from the Farmers Market lot, free or for a few dollars. Parades and the Halloween Safe Zone clear or close Main Street at a set hour. For everything else, the City’s posted event-day rate on its two lots is the only published rule. Here is what each organizer and the City actually publish.

The City’s event-day rule

The City of Blue Ridge parking sheet lists two City lots with an event-day price. The City-owned lot off Mountain Street is $10 a day, or $20 a day during festivals and events. The City Hall lot at 480 West First Street is free, except for a $20-per-day charge on festival and event days. Parking on the public downtown streets is free, with a three-hour limit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on East Main between Church and Mountain streets and on West Main between Depot and Mountain streets.

Read those numbers with their date. The only copy of the sheet we could reach is an Internet Archive capture from May 2024; the old link now returns an error, and the City’s live site blocked our check. The City’s own Downtown Parking page (latest capture February 2025) shows a 2022 Business Association map and no rates at all. So the $20 figure is listed by the City but not confirmed for 2026. Plan on it, and check the lot’s sign on the day.

Private lots are separate. The City says several downtown lots are privately owned and their owners set the rates. Some lots run by Green Rocks LLC take ParkMobile pay-by-phone: use the zone number on the lot’s green sign, expect a $0.35 fee per transaction, and know that a session can be extended but not stopped early. ParkMobile lists 706-632-2222 as the towing company for those lots. The Trackside Station garage at 322 West Main Street, entered from West First Street, is paid; no rate is published.

Festivals with shuttle lots

The two festival organizers that publish shuttle parking both use the Blue Ridge Farmers Market at 787 Summit Street as a shuttle lot.

Arts in the Park (spring and fall)

The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association runs free visitor parking with shuttles from the Farmers Market and from Blue Ridge Middle School at 4560 Old Hwy 76. (The school system lists that address as Fannin County Middle School.) The association’s paid, no-shuttle option is the Trackside Station garage. For the October 2026 festival, its listing gave shuttle hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; the festival itself was rescheduled to Sunday, October 11, and has already taken place.

The next one is the 51st Spring Arts in the Park, listed for May 29-30, 2027 (Memorial Day weekend), starting at 10 a.m., with free shuttles again from the Farmers Market and Middle School lots. Admission for 2027 was not posted when we checked; in 2026 it was $5 for adults and free for children under 12.

Blue Ridge Blues & BBQ

In 2026 the festival charged $5 to park at the Farmers Market, with a free shuttle from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. That was the September 19, 2026 edition, with gates at 11:30 a.m. The 2027 date and parking plan had not been published when we checked on Oct 17, 2026.

Event days that close Main Street

Halloween Safe Zone, Saturday, October 31, 2026. East Main Street between Church and Mountain streets closes to traffic, with candy from 5 p.m. and the costume contest at 5:30 p.m., per the Blue Ridge Business Association. The Chamber says free parking is offered in all City-owned lots, along Mountain Street and at City Hall from 4 p.m. That is the one published case where the City lots are free on an event day rather than $20.

Light Up Blue Ridge, Saturday, November 28, 2026. All cars must be off East and West Main Street by 4 p.m., per the Light Up Blue Ridge schedule; the parade starts at 5:30 p.m.

Parades with a published route but no parking note. The Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. starts at Church Street and East Main and ends at Veterans Memorial Park, per the Business Association. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade runs from Church Street and East Main to Mountain Street and back up West Main to Depot Street; its 2027 date was not posted when we checked. Neither page gives parking instructions, and the St. Patrick’s route runs along both Main Street blocks where the free spaces are.

Festivals with no published parking plan

These downtown events had no parking or shuttle information on the organizer’s or Chamber’s page when we checked. The City sheet’s festival-and-event rate is the published rule that would apply at its two lots.

Event Date Where
PawsFest Saturday, October 17, 2026, noon to 4 p.m. Downtown park beside the tracks
Fire & Ice Chili Cook Off Saturday, February 13, 2027, noon to 5 p.m. 790 block of East Main and the downtown City Park
Trout & Outdoor Adventures Festival Saturday, April 24, 2027 Downtown City Park in 2026; 2027 times not posted

Walking in from the lots

Most festivals sit in the downtown park, so here is how far each downtown parking option is from the park’s corner at East Main and Church, measured along OpenStreetMap streets (minutes are metres divided by 80, about 3 mph, with no allowance for hills or crowds):

Parking To the park at East Main and Church On foot
Trackside Station garage (paid; entrance on West First Street) 338 m about 4 min
West Main Street spaces (3-hour limit, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) 508 m about 6 min
City Hall lot, 480 West First Street 537 m about 7 min
East Main Street spaces (3-hour limit, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) 576 m about 7 min
City lot off Mountain Street 753 m about 9 min
Blue Ridge Farmers Market, 787 Summit Street (shuttle lot on some festival days) 1132 m about 14 min

The Farmers Market lot is the outlier at about 14 minutes on foot, so on the days an organizer runs a shuttle from it, take the shuttle. For every lot to the depot and to Main Street, see walking times from every lot, and for the lot-by-lot picker, our parking guide.

When a festival and a train share the day

The railway says weekends are its busiest days, with heavy traffic and limited parking, and most downtown festivals fall on weekends. A 4-hour train will not fit a 3-hour Main Street space, festival or not; train-day parking works through which ride fits which kind of parking. Public restrooms are at the Downtown Visitor Center, and the 2022 downtown map shows more in the park; see visitor info. Every dated downtown event is on our events calendar.
