Gold Peach Realty, the North Georgia brokerage that publishes Blue Ridge Downtown, is committed to equal housing opportunity. We follow the federal Fair Housing Act and the Georgia Fair Housing Act in every part of our business, including what we write on this site.
Who the law protects
The federal Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to discriminate in the sale, rental or financing of housing, or in other housing-related services, because of:
- Race
- Color
- Religion
- Sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity
- Disability
- Familial status, such as having children under 18 in the household or being pregnant
- National origin
The Georgia Fair Housing Act provides similar protections under state law.
How this shows up on the site
When we write about Blue Ridge and Fannin County, we describe places and their public facts: the streets, the depot, the parks, City services, schools as the school system lists them, and published rules. We do not say who a street, town or area is “for”, we do not steer anyone toward or away from any part of the county, and we do not publish school ratings. Population figures come straight from Census Bureau tables. If you see wording here that falls short of that, tell us at info@goldpeachrealty.com and we will fix it.
How to file a complaint
If you believe you have experienced housing discrimination, you can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). How to file, online or by phone, is on the HUD Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity website. You can also contact Gold Peach Realty at (770) 283-1223 or info@goldpeachrealty.com.
