Blue Ridge Downtown is an independent guide to downtown Blue Ridge, in Fannin County, Georgia: the blocks along the railroad, parking, food, shops and galleries, the train seen from downtown, events, and living in or near town. It is published as a Gold Peach Realty community guide and written by the Blue Ridge Downtown Editorial Team.
Who publishes it
Gold Peach Realty is a North Georgia real estate brokerage. You can reach it at (770) 283-1223 or info@goldpeachrealty.com. The brokerage pays for the guide. That is why every page carries a Gold Peach Realty note and why the living and selling pages mention its services. The rest of the guide is about downtown, not about real estate.
Who we are not
We are not affiliated with the City of Blue Ridge, Fannin County, the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and its visitor bureau, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway or any business we list. No business paid to be included or to be placed higher on a page. We do not sell train tickets, take bookings or resell anything; when you are ready to buy, we link to the business or the railway directly.
How we check facts
- Primary sources. Hours, fees, dates and rules come from the business, the railway, the event organizer or the government office that publishes them. Population comes from the Census Bureau, weather from NOAA and elevation from the USGS.
- A checked date. Each sourced fact links to its source and shows when we last checked it. The first full check was October 17, 2026.
- Three statuses. Confirmed means the source states it for the current year. Not yet confirmed means it is listed somewhere but the organizer or agency has not confirmed it. A 2025 value is last year’s, labeled as last year’s, so you never mistake it for this year’s.
- Old sources, said plainly. When the only source is old, such as a 2022 parking map or an archived copy of a City page, we say so and tell you who to call.
- Gaps stay gaps. If something is not published, we say it is not published. We do not fill gaps with guesses.
How the tools work
The day planner and the “open on the day you visit” filters use each business’s posted hours, as we found them on the checked date. Hours change, so call ahead. Walking times are measured along OpenStreetMap streets at about 3 mph (80 metres a minute). They are street-network distances, not timed walks, and they do not account for hills. The weather table uses NOAA’s 1991 to 2020 normals from the nearest station with temperature records.
How AI fits in
AI tools help us draft; people check every fact before it publishes. If a sentence here does not match its source, that is our mistake to fix.
