With kids, downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia works best in short hops. Start at the playground in the Downtown City Park at East Main and Church streets, add indoor mini golf a minute from the depot, and leave room for ice cream or candy on East Main. If the train is on the plan, the railway publishes clear stroller, restroom and fare rules, set out below. Everything downtown on this page is within about a 7-minute walk of the depot.
Hours are as each business posts them, checked Oct 17, 2026; call ahead. Walking times are measured along OpenStreetMap streets at about 3 mph.
The playground and the park
The Downtown City Park sits between East and West Main streets, with a playground at East Main and Church, about 5 minutes from the depot. The Chamber’s listing adds picnic tables and grills, and it is free. The 2022 downtown map shows a restroom building in the park near the playground; no hours are posted for it. The Downtown Visitor Center at 282 West Main Street has two public restrooms and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, about 3 minutes from the park.

Indoor games
- 2nd Story Entertainment: indoor 18-hole mini golf and an arcade, open noon to 8 p.m. every day, about 1 minute from the depot. The address is 733 East Main, but the entrance is up Depot Street and upstairs. Posted mini golf prices: $11.99 for ages 10 and up, $10.99 for ages 4 to 9, free for ages 0 to 3. The business points visitors to a free all-day lot on Depot Street.
- Escape Blue Ridge, 644 East Main: themed escape rooms such as Big Foot Escape and Wizard School of Magic, open every day by booking, about 1 minute away. Our sources do not list a minimum age, so ask when you book.
- Vertigo Pinball, 322 West Main: new and classic pinball machines and smash burgers. It also has a full bar, and we have not seen an age policy, so check before you bring children.
Sweets on East Main
- Huck’s General Store, 500 East Main: barrels of old-fashioned candy. It says it is open seven days a week but does not post times.
- Blue Ridge Creamery, 678 East Main: 36 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, about 1 minute from the depot, per its Chamber listing.
- The Sweet Shoppe of the South, 721 East Main: cupcakes, caramel apples, cake pops and chocolate-dipped fruit.
None of the three posts weekly hours, so call if a treat is the bribe that gets everyone back to the car.
