Is Blue Ridge a dry county?

We have not found a county or City alcohol ordinance we could cite, so we will not state the rules. What the businesses publish is plain enough: two taprooms, wine tasting rooms and bars post regular hours downtown, and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway’s concession car sells alcohol to guests 21 and older (outside alcohol is not allowed on the train). For sale hours or open-container rules, ask City Hall at (706) 632-2091.

Pick your day

Plan the walk home

An afternoon at the taprooms can outlast a three-hour Main Street space; the City’s parking sheet (captured May 2024) sets that limit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The parking guide lists lots. In winter, the Fire & Ice Chili Cook Off and Craft Beer Festival is February 13, 2027, noon to 5 p.m., on the 790 block of East Main Street and in the City Park; admission is free. Other dates are on the events calendar.
